Fire prevention: Fire classes and extinguishers
Description
This course covers the different fire classifications (A, B, C, D, F) and the types of fire extinguishers available. You will learn which extinguisher is appropriate for each fire class and how to use them effectively. By the end, you will be better prepared to respond safely and correctly in the event of a fire.
After this course you can
- Identify the different fire classifications (A, B, C, D, F) and their characteristics
- Recognize the symbols and icons associated with each fire class
- Name the different types of fire extinguishers (water, foam, CO2, powder, wet chemical)
- Match the correct extinguisher type to the appropriate fire class
- Understand which extinguishers should NOT be used on certain fire classes
- Apply this knowledge to make safe decisions during a fire emergency

This training is intended for all employees who may be exposed to fire hazards in the workplace.
